The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme is an academic program that is practiced around the world. IB began in Europe in 1968 to meet the academic needs of children in international communities. It blends the best educational practices of all countries.
Robbinsdale Area Schools offered its first “IBPrep” classes in the fall of 1998 at Cooper High School and in 1999 initiated a Middle Years Program (IBMYP). In the fall of 2006, Lakeview Elementary School began the process of implementing the Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) and became fully authorized in spring 2010.
Robbinsdale Middle School's IB Middle Years Programme is a whole-school program with an honors level at each grade, 6-8, and continues at Robbinsdale Cooper High School in grades 9-10.
MYP students in grades 6-8 participate at Robbinsdale Middle School and grades 9-10 continue the program at Robbinsdale Cooper High School. Students in grades 11-12 continue with the Diploma Programme at Cooper.
